I earned my Masters in Social Work in 1976. I've worked in community mental health programs in Columbia, Clackamas and Clark counties. I'm licensed and can bill insurance.

I'm experienced as a mental health evaluator, therapist, substance abuse specialist, and case manager connecting older adults with community services.  My experience has taught me that acceptance and hope are needed before healing occurs.

When I passed my own 50 year mark, I became interested in aging. This led me to get a Certificate in Gerontology- now I'm credentialed as a Clinical Social Worker in Gerontology. While "geriatrics" looks at aging as decline, "gerontology" focuses on stages in our lifespan. I believe aging can be an exciting stage of life.  Our wisdom and values can direct us with confidence and enthusiasm. I help identify strengths to enjoy one's life.

I have a wide range of experience in treating addictions, depression, anxiety, grief, suicidal thinking, major life transitions, mental illness, post traumatic stress disorder, inter-generational family issues, as well as crisis resolution. I'm LGBT friendly.
